iPad Client Check-In App for Therapy Offices
A therapy hour is the product. The knock on the door is the leak. Someone arrived, nobody was at the desk, and now you are splitting attention. An iPad on a stand is how a lot of small offices kill that knock. Only if the app is actually check-in, not a logo.
This page is for owners who already know the job: client in the lobby, you in session, you need a text. Not for hospital intake. Not for BetterHelp.
What the iPad has to do
The client should understand the screen without a receptionist. Faces or names of who is in today. One tap. Then they sit. You get a text or email with who arrived. That is the whole loop.
Show who is working today. Photos beat a dropdown if the client is anxious.
One tap. Not a 12-field form before they sit.
Notify the person they tapped. A dashboard they will not open during session is not a notify.
Survive a locked iPad on a stand. Guided Access is your friend.
Check-in is arrival. Intake is a different screen. Do not mash them.
What it must not be
An EHR. Charts, notes, superbills stay in SimplePractice or whatever you already pay.
A hospital kiosk. Phreesia is a different buyer.
A phone app the client downloads. They will not download anything in your lobby.
A logo as screenshot 1. That is the ad on the App Store. A logo is not an ad.
Purple Couch in that job
Purple Couch is iPad lobby check-in. Client taps who they are seeing. You get a text. Staff-seat plans: $14.99 a month for 1 to 5 staff. 30-day trial. English. Live in the US, Canada, and Australia. Listing: Purple Couch on the App Store.
Read the FAQs for how alerts work. Then read the live privacy policy. A blog is not a BAA.
How a session afternoon actually runs
Client arrives. Nobody greets them at a desk.
They tap a face on the iPad.
You get a text. You finish the person in the room.
You open the door when you are ready. Not when the knock happens.
If that is not your afternoon, you need a person at the desk or a heavier kiosk. Do not buy Purple Couch to collect copays.
Setup that does not eat the week
iPad, case, stand. Guided Access so they cannot leave the app.
Staff photos and the numbers that should get the text.
A test tap before the first real client.
Most small offices are live the same day.
Other names you will see
I'm Here is the closest tap-a-face clone. I'm Here on the App Store. TapIn is clinic-flavored patient check-in. TapIn on the App Store. Open both on a phone and on an iPad. Purple Couch is iPad-only, which can hide it in iPhone search.
Do this before you run ads
If nobody finds the listing, ads on a logo screenshot will not save you. Fix subtitle, screenshot 1, and the site button that should hit the real App Store URL, not a Wix template.
People who find the app tend to stay. The leak is discovery.
